Meet The Team
Born and raised in Clear Lake, Dr. Leestma graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She is a member of AVMA and TVMA with experience from a small animal internship at Pet Emergency and studied CCRP at University of Tennessee CVM. She officially joined BCAC in 2019 with prior relief work in 2012. Her special interests include managing chronic disease, soft tissue surgery, and physical rehabilitation. Currently, Dr. Leestma's family includes her husband, 3 children, Kora, Korbin and Kallen, 3 dogs, Cooper, Newby, and Kaia, Boone the "retired" clinic cat, a few chickens, and a bunch of fish. Her favorite thing about veterinary medicine is building relationships with clients and their pets to keep both happy and healthy.
As our Practice Manager Nikki ensures day to day
activities run smoothly. While helping answer phone calls and emails, Nikki provides our clients and patients the care they deserve. We are proud and fortunate to say she has been a part of our team since 2003.
Pets: a Golden Retriever named Whiskey & 3 cats, Phoebe, Koda, and Cheeto

Riley has been with Bay Creek as our second receptionist since December of 2022. Her favorite part of her job is definitely socializing, she is an endless source of entertainment. She has a daughter, 3 four-legged babies, and a hermit crab that keep her busy when she is not working!
Pets: a chihuahua named Arizona, a sassy calico cat named Penelope and her most recent rescue puppy Navy.
Inspired by her mother, Jen began working in the animal industry at a young age and continues to help new and returning patients.
Pets: 3 dogs, Pixie, Chaos, and Blaze.
Beautiful is our current clinic kitty rescued from League City Animal Shelter. While she is extremely sweet she has a bit of a mischievous side to her. When she isn't napping somewhere around the clinic she enjoys practicing her reception skills. She excels at operating the laptop to check in mystery patients, change the weights of dogs to make them fatter, and lock up the keyboard so no one can use it but her...
Looking forward to learning new skills and techniques, Elissa's favorite part of the job is watching the healing process of each patient.

Abby is our 2023-2024 high school intern. She will be graduating in May of '24 and attending Mississippi State in the fall where she will be pursuing a biomedical engineering degree. Her favorite part of her job is learning new skills she can take with her to college.
